Untitled (Agorà)

I painted this on a cotton sheet, no stretcher, for a square in the old town of Bordighera Alta. It was made for Agorà, an open-air show where the work hangs in the street instead of inside a gallery — for one evening there was a sea hanging between two houses. The wind never stopped, so the whole thing moved. The children stopped underneath and stayed there watching the blue lift and drop, close enough to touch it, which never happens in a room with white walls.
