Silence

I painted this on wood in the spring of 2020, the first piece I made after weeks of being ill. I was alone in the Ligurian countryside during the first lockdown, cut off from everyone, with nothing in front of me but the sea and the silence. Everything arrived louder than usual — the light, the birds, the empty air. I remember standing at the panel and breathing properly again.
